I have a systems background and plan to go in for a IT / OPs specialization.
Basic research shows Purdue to be a good bet. Have 4+ years of experience in India with a year plus in the US.
What kinda GMAT scores will be good to secure admissions at Purdue?
Any other good schools with a 2 year program that is good for my profile to specialize in IT / OPs? |

The avg gmat score for Purdue is 660+, but 80% of the students fall into the 610 - 700 range. Meaning, a score of 640+ would still make it competitive I suppose. Typically the thumb rule is to have a GMAT around the average score for the Univ. A GMAT score less than 40 points the average lessens the chances unless other parts of the application are exemplary.
Purdue is ranked 3rd by WSJ after MIT and CMU for IT/Operations - so MIT and CMU are other schools that you may want to explore. |

Thanks for the info.
What will be the average GMAT requirement for CMU - guess it will be at least 50 points more than Purdue?
I am not even considering MIT at this stage as I think I will have to get a very high GMAT score . Maybe after my GMAT is over, based on what I score, I will look at MIT.

I'm not stanfordonly, but I was following up this thread.
CMU avg is about 690 and 80% of the class are in 640-710 range. A 700+ on GMAT is still a good bet for any of the top schools including MIT. |
