The volume of a sphere of radius r is obtained by the formula V = 4pi r^3/3. If the volume of a sphere is 972pi cubic inches, what is its radius in inches?

(1) 4
(2) 3
(3) 7
(4) 6
(5) 9

On solving this, we can get : r^3 = 3 ^ 6

Thus, r = 9 units.
