Hi all
I am new to this forum. Was wondering if you guys can help me understand the criteria and also mentor a little?

A little Background:
I am 33, Masters Degree in US (Comp Science) and work experience of 10 years (5 years in Big 5).

I am interested in taking GMAT and applying for April(07). Applying at 34 makes sense? Do the admissions committes take it as bit too much? I read the avg age is 28.

Pl. advise.

I have a student friend presently in his second year at Krannert Purdue. He is 36, graduated in 1991 from India and had 14 years of experience before embarking on his MBA.

You are right about the average or the median age. The number of applicants in your age profile will also be less and therefore, could actually improve your chances.

Best wishes for getting into a top school.

There is no problem. You should go ahead and take the GMAT. Admission committee should see it as an effort to reinvent yourself according to the modern global framework. Get all your info on GMAT, refer to http://xrl.us/wkux. Your record is good, so you don't need to worry. Concentrate on tests and selecting colleges.
