How is a 10+ years of work ex viewed by the adcom. Is it a plus?

depends..some schools prefer only younger applicants - ex. Harvard/Stanford. More than the amount of work experience - quality of work experience is crucial - number of promotions, leadership roles, et al. Also, "why MBA, why now" need to be articulated fairly thoroughly. Also, it may be good to evaluate EMBA, or the fellowship program from MIT Sloan (which is 1 year full time).

One year MBA in Europe is in fact a norm

Any ideas on how the industry views one year MBA in the US - the Thunderbird program and the MIT program mentioned by Stanfordonly

My understanding is that...
One year MBA is a choice for those applicants who have sustantial work ex and want to stay in the industry or function that they had experience with.

A two year MBA is for those who wish to broadbase their option to a potential career change or want more breather to test their career option during the internship.
